ACN to close call center
The Mining Journal:
"American Communications Network plans to close its call center at K.I. Sawyer sometime next year, the company announced Thursday.
The decision was announced to employees Thursday, in a statement saying ACN’s United States operations would be consolidated in one location, in Concord, N.C.
Vicki Kulju of Telkite Enterprises, LLC, estimated the average number of ACN employees is around 160, although it fluctuates. Steve Powers, county administrator, also estimated the average number at between 150 and 160 jobs.
“This was a very difficult decision because of our company’s long history in Michigan and the impact we know it will have on our employees and their families,” said ACN’s global vice president of marketing, Allan Van Buhler, in an e-mail statement. "
