Florida State Sen. Saunders on board of firm in trouble

State Sen. Burt Saunders, who is running for the U.S. House, is a board member of an online travel business accused of being a pyramid scheme.

The company is facing a $25 million lawsuit in California and is being investigated in Illinois.

YourTravelBiz.com, commonly called YTB, allegedly swindled money from tens of thousands of members who were told they could earn riches, according to the lawsuit filed in California by Attorney General Edmund G. "Jerry" Brown. The business, however, is profitable to only a few people at the top.

Saunders, R-Naples, defended YTB, calling the accusations "really silly." He said people are making a lot of money through the Web site, which is why YTB continues to grow.
