"When Sarah Mcintosh first moved to the Philippines, she found it a curious but pleasant surprise to meet Filipinas who reach into their blouse collars to reveal their Avon bra straps upon learning that the Englishwoman worked with the direct-selling firm. But after living here for 18 months, McIntosh has become familiar with Filipinas’ loyalty to Avon undergarments. McIntosh, Avon marketing director for Southeast Asia cluster, said the brand sells a staggering 44,000 bras across the country daily, making it the No. 1 in this segment, not just among direct-selling brands but in the total undergarments business. The immense popularity of Avon Fashions is unique to the Philippines, said McIntosh, as the brand presented its latest collection in Crowne Plaza last week. Everywhere else in the world, she added, Avon is synonymous to cosmetics. Heritage and credibility"
